Armor Gutierrez Rivas

Senior Lecturer University of East London, UK

Armor is an architect, researcher and maker, working and living in London.

After working for some of the world’s most distinguished architecture firms such as Bjarke Ingels Group in Copenhagen or MVRDV in Rotterdam, in 2014 he joined KPF in London, where he worked as an Associate Principal and BIM Project Architect. One of his latest projects developed within the firm was One Bank Street, a new office development in Canary Wharf recently completed achieving the rating of BREEAM Outstanding.

From 2017 he runs Unit 8, a MArch studio unit as part of the Master in Architecture at the University of East London, UEL. The unit students have been selected in several occasion for RIBA awards, including the Silver Medal UEL nomination 2019.

In 2018 he was selected, as part of an international interdisciplinary team, to deliver the concept and content of Montenegrin Pavilion for the Architecture Exhibition Venice Biennale. In 2019 and 2020 he was selected to deliver temporary installations aiming to improve the public realm and bring activity to the city as part of the London Festival of Architecture, LFA.
