Since 2001, Francesco Mangani has held the position of Assistant Professor at IUAV in Venice, where he also served as a Visiting Professor for a design studio focusing on Architectural Composition in 2007-2008. His extensive academic career includes roles as a Visiting Professor at the Venice Studio, University of Melbourne, Australia, in 2021, and at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture Paris Val de Seine, France, in 2020. He was also a Visiting Professor at WAVe 2019, IUAV, Venice, and a Visiting Critic at the Faculty of Architecture, Hochschule München, Germany, in 2011. Earlier in his career, he contributed as an Assistant Professor at the Urban Design Workshop in Vignola (Bologna) for a research program at the Faculty of Architecture in Florence in 2008. Between 2007 and 2008, he was a Visiting Critic at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Versailles, France.

His involvement with IUAV in Venice also includes roles as an Assistant Professor for the PhD in Sustainable Urban Design (2005-2006) and the Summer Workshop (2004-2006). Additionally, he served as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Architecture at the Polytechnic of Milan from 2003 to 2004. Francesco Magnani is regularly invited to lecture on MAP studio’s research and projects at various Italian and international architectural events.
