Jens Majdal Kaarsholm is the BIM manager of the BIG office in Copenhagen, while also overseeing the London and Barcelona offices regarding BIM (Building Information Modelling)

Today Jens and his team of specialists is overseeing all aspects of BIM in the office, where they are acting both as support and consultants for the project teams and partners, while also developing standards, protocols and procedures, as well as training project teams in the new digital tools & workflows,

Jens has extensive experience with large scale commercial, medical & residential projects globally, and has been more or less involved in most of the BIG projects coming out of the Copenhagen office in recent years, especially the ones entering the later stages of design.

Prior to re-joining BIG, Jens was shortly at Arkitema Architects as BIM Manager on the new children’s hospital Børneriget in Copenhagen.

Oceanwide Center project in downtown San Francisco, which was considered one of the most successful full scope BIM projects in the office back then. A project which is set to be the second tallest in San Francisco when complete.

After just a year Jens was promoted to Associate, and later promoted to BIM Operations Manager, where he was put directly in charge of all of Foster + Partners global BIM operations, leading a team of 28 BIM coordinators worldwide.
